Vulnerability and autism spectrum

Unlike an illness, vulnerability depends on the specific environment.

Just as fair skin represents a vulnerability to sunburn, autism represents a vulnerability to a disruption in social interaction and thus in individual development.
And just as there are people with fair skin who don’t get sunburned, there are also autistic people without a “pervasive developmental disorder.”
The “spectrum” must therefore be broadened.
At the same time, the spectrum can be explained, and the causes understood.
